The context

Talo is a payment gateway for online commerce. It lets stores accept bank transfers and automatically validates payments, connecting the transfer to the order so merchants can move on to fulfillment.

My role

I work at Talo as a Full Stack Engineer, full-time. I joined about a year ago, and it’s one of the most interesting parts of my engineering experience: working on a payment product as part of the team.

The context

Employees recorded attendance through Google Forms. Supervisors used forms to log their site visits, too. The companies needed a dedicated product for those everyday workflows.

What I did

I built ArrowConnect entirely on my own, from the first idea to the working product. It brings attendance, supervisor visit tracking and staff management together. Having worked on the commercial side of Arrow gave me a close understanding of the business and the people I was building for.

03 /

The result

Two companies now use ArrowConnect, each with approximately 400 employees. It replaced their Google Forms process for attendance and supervisor visits. This is my largest product in real-world use so far.

A printed agenda became an app. Three years later, it’s still part of the conference.

The context

Attendees had a printed sheet as their only way to check the event agenda. We wanted to put the conference schedule in their pockets, so they could find what was coming up throughout the event.

What I did

I worked in a team of three with Andrés Carro Wetzel and Juan Gago. We all contributed across the app, with my work focused on the backend. We shared responsibility for getting a useful product into attendees’ hands.

03 /

The result

The app has been used at SABF every year for three years, by approximately 150 attendees per edition. What began as a way to move beyond a printed agenda became a recurring part of the conference experience.

The best sign that something works? People keep using it.

The context

In 2024, many business teams were still finding their way into generative AI. They wanted to understand what it could do for their actual work, from customer service to internal communication.

What I did

I designed and delivered a practical workshop for people from Arrow Servicios, Arsec and Digifort Latam. I covered applications, prompting and automation, translating unfamiliar tools into examples a business audience could explore.

03 /

The result

More than 40 professionals from three companies took part in the 2024 session. My interest started in 2022 and has kept growing: I continue learning, experimenting and using AI every day, sharing what I learn along the way.

The context

Bringing 25 international speakers into one conference takes careful coordination—and the ability to adapt when the plan changes. During the event, a key speaker could not arrive in time for their session.

02 /

What I did

I led the Speakers Department with the support of a team that made a huge difference, working alongside Malena Saraví and Pilar González Barreiro. When the speaker was delayed, I rearranged the agenda on the spot so the program could keep moving.

03 /

The result

Together, we coordinated the participation of 25 speakers from around the world. The experience strengthened the part of work that feels most natural to me: building relationships, working with teams and communicating across different levels of an organization.

I’m Javier. A developer with a business background, a teacher’s patience, and a habit of getting involved.

I’m currently a Full Stack Engineer at Talo, working full-time for about a year. We build a payment gateway that connects bank transfers with online commerce. It’s one of the most interesting chapters in my work so far.

I started in sales at Arrow Servicios. When I began Computer Engineering at ITBA, I moved into development and built ArrowConnect from scratch. Today, two companies with around 400 employees each use it for attendance and supervisor visits.

Along the way, I found out that I enjoy explaining pointers as much as writing code. And that organizing an international conference teaches you a few things no textbook can.

AI has been a constant since 2022. I learn by building with it, use it every day, and teach what I discover. The tools keep changing; my curiosity keeps growing.
